Senator Imee Marcos led local government officials in Tanay, Rizal, on Sunday, Sept. 11, in re-introducing the Nutribun, a vitamin fortified bread which was popular among school children in public schools during the term of the senator’s father, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos.
The Municipal Social Welfare Office of Tanay, Rizal said the launching of the Nutribun Feeding Project took place in Barangay Sampaloc on Sept. 11, coinciding with the 105th birth anniversary of the former president who introduced the vitamin fortified bun during his presidency.
Sen. Marcos led the ceremonial feeding of children who have been the regular beneficiaries of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Barangay Health Workers of the Tanay local government.
Tanay Mayor Rafael ‘Lito’ Tanjuatco, Rizal Governor Nina Ynares, Vice Governor Junrey San Juan, 2nd District Representative Dino Tanjuatco, Rizal Police Director Col. Dominic Baccay, and former Vice Governor and former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Frisco San Juan also attended the event.
