German wounded in Bohol shooting


CEBU CITY – A German was wounded after he was shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Danao, Panglao, Bohol on Monday, Sept. 12.

Police identified the victim as Pantaleone Voci, 64.

The Panglao Municipal Police Station said that the victim was doing his routine morning exercise outside his house at past 6 a.m. when two men on board a motorcycle drove near him.

Police said without a word, the gunmen repeatedly shot the victim.

The gunmen fled after the attack while the victim was rushed to the hospital, police added.

Police recovered at the scene four spent shells for a .45 caliber pistol.

Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, urged the public to help the police solve the attack.

“Help us identify and arrest the persons behind the attack. Help us by providing information so we could send the persons behind this to jail,” said Vega.

Police said investigation to identify the assailants and determine the motive of the attack is ongoing.
