Bianca Rogoff, Cherie Gil’s only daughter with violinist Rony Rogoff, recently wrote a moving open letter for her mother who passed away recently.
There, Bianca said she wanted to post when she was "ready" but she's not sure she will ever be.
"So… I felt you today, guiding me with your lightness; easing my heart into love and compassion and straying away from negative thoughts," she said.
Bianca thanked her late mom.
She related: "I felt you in the sun. It didn’t rain, which felt rare. then in the laughter of my cousin as we sat sharing a juice. I could feel you and her dad, my uncle, smiling at us. It’s amazing how far we’ve come."
"I feel you now as I write this - with a few tears coming down my face as the American couple next to me laughs while doing a puzzle. I think of your adventurous spirit - your laugh, asking 'what’s the plan, Eigenmann!' and saying 'aaalright' when you were excited about what we came up with. wanting us to live life with joy and not taking things too seriously," she added.
Bianca said it comes in waves but what puts her at ease is knowing the ease that Cherie is feeling now that she's finally "free."
"The true bohemian you always wanted to be," she maintained.
According to her, before Cherie passed, she told her "to go."
"And so I’m going. with and for you," Bianca declared. "I love you I love you I love you. Thank you."
Cherie passed on “peacefully” in her sleep last Aug. 5 after a bout with cancer in New York. She was 59.
Aside from Bianca, her older brother Raphael also penned an open letter for their mom a few weeks ago.
Besides Bianca and Raphael, Cherie has another son named Jay, with her former partner, Leo Martinez.
On the other hand, Cherie's brother, actor Michael de Mesa, also wrote a sweet message for his sister recently.
