MB Daily News Update: Fewer Filipinos experienced hunger in 2nd qtr of 2022


The number of Filipino families which experienced involuntary hunger declined in the second quarter of 2022 from the April 2022 data. The Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed 11.6 percent of Filipino families felt hunger in the second quarter, compared to the 12.2 percent recorded in April 2022.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had his first one-on-one interview as president with long-time supporter Toni Gonzaga.

The effects of typhoon Inday continued to linger with its outermost rainbands still being felt in Batanes, and the monsoon rains that it has been drawing persisting in western parts of Central and Southern Luzon.

Congratulations from all over are being sent to Philippine tennis teenage sensation Alex Eala, who became the first Filipino to win a Grand Slam title by claiming the US Open girls’ singles title.
