TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan-- Three high value targets, including a student who is drug den owner/maintainer, who had been under surveillance were nabbed during a buy-bust operation on Friday night, Sept. 8, at Co St., Carig Sur. in this city.
Operatives identified the suspects as Nicanor John Mata Jr, owner/maintainer of drug den, Romnel De Leon, 21, and Julie Ann Ramil, 22, all of Tuguegarao City.
Both Mata Jr. and De Leon are students.
The raiders confiscated a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves, white folded paper containing dried marijuana leaves, tubular form containing dried marijuana leaves wrapped in a black trash bag.
The estimated combined weight of the marijuana leaves was 200 grams with an estimated value of P24,000.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents also found assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.
The operatives are also trying to determine if there were other students involved in the illegal drug activities.
Cases for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 are being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.
