"We welcome this partnership with M. Lhuillier particularly its strategic presence in the South as 40% of our members and pensioners are in Visayas and Mindanao," said GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso at the memorandum of agreement signing ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the GSIS Head Office in Pasay City.

M. Lhuillier, with its 2,576 branches nationwide, is one of the biggest nonbank financial services networks in the country.

Veloso also said that the members and pensioners do not need to visit GSIS offices as the agency will be the one to bring its "ginhawa" services closer through partnerships with payment channels.

"We are honored to be a part of the GSIS payment platforms for the greater convenience of its members and pensioners. We look forward to growing this partnership. Lahat pwede or what we call ‘pwede-bilities’ when you partner with M. Lhuillier," M. Lhuillier President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Lhuillier said.

Bayad, another loan payment partner of GSIS, has already collected P173 million worth of loan payments through its 3,000 payment centers, said the agency.

Members can also pay their loans through the online applications of Union Bank of the Philippines and Land Bank of the Philippines.

GSIS is planning to forge partnerships with other payment service providers in the coming months to bring its "payment channels to 10,000 over-the-counter and online outlets to enhance our customer experience," Veloso said.
