The Quezon City government on Monday, Sept. 5, started the distribution of school supplies to public schools students as in-person classes resume in the city.
QC Education Affairs Unit Officer-in-Charge Maricris Veloso said the ceremonial distribution of the supplies were held in six schools - Toro Hills Elementary School (District 1), Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School (District 2), Balara Elementary School (District 3), Pinyahan Elementary School (District 4), Rosas Susano Elementary School (District 5), and Placido Del Mundo Elementary School (District 6).
Veloso said that they are targeting to provide school supplies to around 450,000 Kinder to Grade 12 students in the city’s 158 public schools before the end of September.
These include school bags, writing notebooks, black ballpens, pencils, pencil case, pad papers, folders, crayons, brown and plastic envelopes, markers, and hand sanitizers.
Veloso said the items given to students differ depending on their grade level.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the ceremonial distribution along with QC Schools Division Office (SDO) Superintendent Dr. Jenilyn Corpuz, Assistant Superintendents Engineer Marc Voltaire Padilla, and Dr. Noel Bagano, Dr. Jesusa Baetiong of the SDO, Education Affairs Unit Officer-in-Charge Veloso, District Action Officers, barangay officials, school principals, teachers, students, and the General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA) officers of schools.
