The Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH) announced that all of its medical wards have already reached full capacity.
In an advisory released on Monday, Sept. 5, the management of the city’s lone public hospital said it could no longer admit patients for confinement at the regular medical intensive care unit (ICU), regular medical and surgery wards, OB-Gyne ward, Covid transition ward, and regular surgical ICU.
Hospital officials said 21 patients were placed on waiting list at the emergency room for admission.
Based on the report of PCGH officer-in-charge Dr. John Victor de Gracia, all admissible patients will be brought or transferred to other healthcare facilities for proper and immediate management.
Patients who are in need of immediate medical attention like stroke, trauma and cardiac arrest will still be treated and assessed at the hospital emergency room.
The PCGH official also said that once the hospital decongests its ER and the number of admission is already manageable, it will again accept patients for confinement
