The PNP under the supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Zarate Jr, officer in charge, visited the Grade 2 pupils of Maasin Elementary School in barangay Maasin.

The lecture was about Anti-Bullying and Crime Safety Tips in relation to Oplan Balik-Eskwela I-am Strong (BES).

Oplan BES aims to empower children on their rights and educate them on how to protect themselves against exploitation and abuses, and ultimately make them law-abiding citizens.

The PNP instilled in children to keep in their mind that police officers are friendly and protectors of children’s rights and ‘Hindi Panakot ang Pulis sa mga Bata.’

"Kapansin pansin naman na ang mga bata ay talagang nakikinig sa pangaral ng mga pulis (It’s noticeable that the children really listened to the lectures of the policemen)," a visibly impressed official said.

Police are hoping that with this kind of lecture, the students would learn how to deal when they are being bullied.

Police said they will continue with their lectures to help the students understand bullying and for their safety.
