18,590 needy students in Calabarzon receive DSWD cash aid

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported Monday, Sept. 5, that 18,590 distressed students in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area) have received educational cash assistance as of Saturday, Sept. 3.

The DSWD Region 4-A said 8,025 students received financial assistance totaling P14.58 million on Saturday in 25 payout sites in the region.

More than P37 million have been distributed to students in crisis in Calabarzon since Aug 20.

DSWD 4-A said the distribution was smooth as local governments provided facilities to serve as assessment and payout sites.

The agency strictly implemented the “no walk-in policy” and only those who received a confirmation text message were admitted in their assessment sites.
