MB Daily News Update: PBBM arrives in Indonesia; VP Sara is gov't caretaker

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. arrived in Indonesia Sunday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2022, for his first state visit since assuming office. And while he’s away, Vice President Sara Duterte was tapped to be caretaker of the government.

And before the President left for his foreign trips, he appointed former foreign affairs secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. as ambassador to the United Kingdom, and former Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) chairperson Agnes Devanadera as Clark Development Corp. president.

Typhoon Henry has exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), and has left minimal damage, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (NRRMDO). But this may not be the case for southern Japan where “Hinnamor” (the international name of typhoon Henry) is expected to lash throughout the entire weekend.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continued to report smooth operations in its distribution of cash assistance to students-in-crisis, and accounted for more than 89,000 beneficiaries on the third day of its distribution.

These are among the top stories this Sunday afternoon, Sept. 4, 2022.
