The devil wears… Gucci

Winning looks at the MTV Video Music Awards 2022

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny

Taylor Swift won the plum prize at last week’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) 2022. Her long-form video for “All Too Well,” all 10 minutes of it, was named Video of the Year.

We were ‘beggin’, beggin’ (put your loving hand out, darling)’ for Måneskin, who were also nominated.

But our eyes were glued to Artist of the Year winner, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, who performed his global hit “Titi Me Pregunto” on the VMA stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, Aug. 28, wearing Gucci Love Parade double-breasted peak lapel satin suit in pale mauve and heated it up with a pair of white acetate rectangular frame sunglasses.

Rock band Maneskin

American singer and actress Dove Cameron picked up the Best New Artist award, K-pop sensation BTS won Group of the Year (still!), but we were “beggin’, beggin’ (put your loving hand out, darling)” for Måneskin, who were also nominated to both categories.

The Italian glam rock band were all decked out in Gucci as well. Damiano David wore the Gucci Cosmogonie crew-neck with a crystal-embroidered silk nylon tulle cape and black satin pants and black leather boots. Victoria de Angelis wore the Gucci Cosmogonie strass-embroidered, one-shoulder fluid viscose jersey top and black culottes. Thomas Raggi wore Exquisite Gucci sequin-embroidered G checkerboard suit with a black lace bodysuit and black leather boots with Interlocking Chain detail. Ethan Torchio wore a custom Gucci black tulle bustier with black gabardine pants, black oversized belt with silver studs, and oversized buckle detail, black leather gloves with silver studs, and black patent leather boots.

But all our beggin’, beggin’ did work because Måneskin won Best Alternative Video for their 2021 chart-topper “I Wanna Be Your Slave” (stylized in all caps), off their second studio album Teatro d’ira: Volume 1.

Put your hand out, baby!
