Barangay kagawad in Baguio City arrested for illegal drugs


BAGUIO CITY -- A barangay kagawad was found in possession of P88,000 worth of shabu during the implementation of search warrant on Thursday morning, Sept. 1, in his residence in Brgy. Irisan in this city.

In a report to BGen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, the arrested person was identified as Francis Carpio Dagson, 57, and an active barangay kagawad of Irisan, Baguio City.

According to the PDEA-Cordillera, Dagson was on its list as a high-value individual.

The government’s anti-drug agency said Dagson is believed to be a supplier and protector in a drug den owned by Marivic Rodriguez, who was also attacked on August 2 in Barangay Irisan.

Operatives recovered from the suspect's house seven plastic sachets of shabu weighing approximately 13 grams with an standard price of P88,400 and a digital weighing scale.

The inventory of recovered evidence was conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by Prosecutor Bernard Allan Angeles, DOJ Representative and barangay Irisan official Arthur Carlos.

The suspect and confiscated evidence were brought to the custody of PDEA Baguio for documentation and proper disposition preparatory for the filing of charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
