Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Frasco confirmed to congressmen Wednesday, Aug. 31 the agency’s plan to change its slogan, the popular but rather dated "It's more fun in the Philippines."
Frasco, during the deliberation on the DOT's budget for 2023 before the House Committee on Appropriations, was asked by Zamabales 1st Rep. Jefferson Khonghun about the agency's plans for its slogan.
Frasco said the current slogan--which was launched back in 2012--is under review.
"'It's more fun in the Philippines'--That's the slogan that was put up and continued by the previous administration and it has not yet been changed up until this point as the same is still under review.
The former Liloan town, Cebu mayor said they aim to come up with a new slogan that "reflects the current situation".
"The plan is to enhance the present slogan of the DOT so as to be able to maximize our cultural strength and identity that would be fully reflective of the Filipino brand," Frasco said.
It's more fun in the Philippines replaced "Wow Philippines" as the country’s tourism slogan.
