DOH reports 19,262 new Covid-19 cases in the past week


The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Aug. 29, a total of 19,262 new Covid-19 cases in the past week.

Based on the agency's weekly case bulletin, daily average cases are at 2,752 which is 19 percent lower than cases from Aug. 15 to Aug. 21.

DOH also recorded 110 new severe and critical cases or 0.62 percent of the total new cases. Currently, there are 807 severe and critical admissions which is 10.5 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, 635 out of 2,551 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are being used while 5,986 out of 21,287 or 28.1 percent of non-ICU beds are being used.

Meanwhile, DOH also recorded 316 more deaths due to Covid-19, 94 of which occurred between Aug. 15 and Aug. 28.

Of the 316 deaths, 113 occurred in Aug. 2022, 18 in July 2022, two in June 2022, five in May 2022, one in April 2022, 63 in February 2022, 104 in January 2022, one in September 2021, one in August 2021, three in May 2021, one in March 2021, one in February 2021, two in January 2021, and one in June 2020.

On the other hand, 72,476,610 individuals have been fully-vaccinated against Covid-19 while 17,843,348 have received booster doses.
