The military said the hideout may have been occupied one week ago by more or less seven CPP-NPA-Terrorist (CNT) members who are believed to be remnants of Kilusang Larangang Guerilla–Sierra Madre.

The government troops also discovered suspected enemy tracking that led them to a larger hideout of the CNT group the next day.

Lieutenant Colonel Julito B. Recto Jr, Commanding Officer of 91IB, lauded the government soldiers for the discovery of the CNT lairs and emphasized that it is a strong evidence that the campaign against terrorism is effective.

Meanwhile, Major General Andrew D. Costelo, Commander of 7th Infantry Division (Kaugnay) reassured that this will be a motivation for the military to become more determined to end the local armed conflict in the Area of Responsibility of the 7ID.
