The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) dispatched its volunteers and staff to respond to a residential fire on E. Rodriguez Street in Brgy. 144, Pasay City on Wednesday night, Aug. 24.
A fire truck, ambulance, and food truck were also sent to the area as per PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon's directive.
More hot meals and non-food items are set to be distributed in the following days, PRC stated.
The fire broke out at 7:23 p.m. as per a report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-National Capital Region Public Information Office.
It reached the second alarm at 7:36 p.m. and escalated to the third alarm at 7:50 p.m., the bureau added.
The fire was declared under control at 9:16 p.m.
According to PRC, 200 houses or nearly 800 residents were affected.
No injuries and deaths were reported by the BFP.
