NPA rebel tagged as Eastern Samar’s most wanted for 6 murders nabbed in Borongan City


TACLOBAN CITY – Police arrested a New People's Army (NPA) member tagged as Eastern Samar's most wanted person Wednesday, Aug. 24, in Borongan City.

The suspect was identified as Marcos Lombendencio, alias “Mar-Mar,” 39, of Barangay Balingasag, Oras, Eastern Samar.

A composite team from the Borongan City Police Station, Provincial Intelligence, and the Regional Intelligence Unit conducted an intelligence-driven “Manhunt Charlie Operation” against the suspect that resulted in his voluntary surrender and apprehension.

Lombedencio has warrants of arrest for six murder charges issued in Borongan City on Oct. 6, 2020 and March 17, 2021 with no bail recommended.

He is also wanted for 17 counts of frustrated murder also in Borongan on Oct. 6, 2020 and March 17, 2021 with a fixed bail of P200,000 each.

Lombedencio was also tagged as the fifth most wanted person in Borongan City, according to the e-Wanted Person Information System (e-WPIS/e-Warrant) of the Philippine National Police.
