La Union PPO cops 10 awards in 12th Police Service Anniversary in Region 1


CAMP OSCAR FLORENDO, La Union -- The La Union Police Provincial Office (LUPPO) brought home 10 awards during the 121st Police Service Anniversary on Thursday morning, Aug. 25, at the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) in San Fernando City, La Union.

This year’s theme was ‘Matibay na Ugnayan ng Pulisya at Mamamayan, Tungo sa Pagkakaisa, Kapayapaan, at Kaunlaran.’

The LUPPO under the leadership of provincial director Col. Lambert Suerte copped five awards in the said event, while the five other major awards were won by the organization’s four police stations and a provincial mobile force company.

The LUPPO clinched the Special Unit Award for being the Top Performing PPO in the Campaign Against Illegal Gambling; Special Unit Award for being the Top Performing PPO in the Energy Efficiency and Conservation; Special Unit Award for being the Top Performing PPO in the Solution of Index Crimes; Special Unit Award for being the Top Performing PPO in the Solution of Cases Against Motorcycle Riding Suspects; and Special Unit Award for being the Top Performing PPO in Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER).

The San Fernando City Police Station was adjudged as the Best Component City Police Station, while the Bauang Police Station was recognized as the Best Municipal Police Station here in the entire Region 1.

Meanwhile, the Naguilian Police Station also received the Special Unit Award for the Highest UPER Rating for Type B Municipal Police Station, while the Tubao Police Station received the Special Unit Award for the Highest UPER Rating for Type C Municipal Police Station.

Rounding out the win for LUPPO was the Special Unit Award for the Highest UPER Rating for Provincial Mobile Force Company which was won by 1st La Union Provincial Mobile Force Company.

According to Suerte, the awards and recognitions received will serve as an inspiration for the police in La Union to maintain or even improve the current service to the citizens.

Swerte thanked his staff as well as the citizens for helping La Union PPO achieve success in maintaining peace and order throughout the province.
