Phoemela Baranda's granddaughter Crystal on challenges of showbiz

Crystal Paras is no stranger to show business.

She is, after all, the granddaughter of actress-TV host Phoemela Baranda.

Despite her pedigree, Crystal is not immune to the hardships given to showbiz life.

She made clear it is far from glamorous.

In fact, she'd rather describe it as "gruesome" if also "tenacious."

"Talagang it's a test of your gut," she related.

"Talagang patibayan ng sikmura at ng loob sa industriyang ito."

She persists only because she loves performing.

Crystal believes she is only too lucky to have been given the chance to do what she loves.

She related: "I've been dreaming about this moment, this opportunity all my life."

"When you're there may mga araw na iiyak ka dahil pagod ka but you get up the next day dahil mahal mo yung ginagawa mo. There will be days na feeling mo your not good enough but you are. Every time you try and try again, and tell yourself you're doing a good job," she said.

It was in 2019 when Crystal joined the 7th season of "StarStruck."

She has since landed several projects, including "Boys Lockdown," "Love of My Life," and "The Lost Recipe."

Crystal has a background in theater.

Her most notable appearance was in Philippine Educational Theater Association's hit musical, "Rak of Aegis."

The 24-year-old is now trying her hand at recording.

She just recently released her single "Hintay."
