Police arrest 12 drugs suspects, seize P180,000 worth of shabu in weeklong operation in Cordillera




LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police arrested 12 drug suspects and seized P180,336 worth of shabu during the anti-illegal drugs operation conducted from Aug. 14 to Aug. 20 in the Cordillera Region.

Records from the PROCOR's Regional Operations Division (ROD) showed Baguio City Police Office had the highest number of arrests with six, followed by Abra PPO with three, Apayao PPO, Benguet PPO, and Kalinga PPO with one arrested drug personality each.

In Baguio City, the arrested personalities were identified as Christian Caluza, 26; Mia Velazquez, 25; a 17-year-old male minor; two 16-year-old male minors; and a 15-year-old male minor.

In Abra, the arrested personalities were identified as Myrcha Pait, 47; Fernando Tao-il, 49; and Gerry Ventura, 52.

While in Apayao, Benguet and Kalinga, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Domingo Lacar, 31; Oliver Ellema, 27; and Reynold Gongob, 47 respectively.

The separate anti-illegal drugs operation conducted resulted in the seizure of a total of 26.52 grams of shabu with a Standard Drug Price of P180,336 and the confiscation of a total of five grams of marijuana leaves with an SDP of P600.

All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violating RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
