The opening of classes in Muntinlupa on Aug. 22 went “smoothly”.
According to a report by the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Muntinlupa, “Generally, all schools in Muntinlupa have smoothly and successfully opened their face-to-face classes.”
It said “26 out of 28 public schools under full face to face have conducted their welcome program through a simple flag raising ceremony as quickly as possible to avoid congestion. All stakeholders have shown their support and areas of concerns like in and out of students, entrance and exits, breaks are properly managed by the schools.”
The office closely coordinated with the Muntinlupa City government, police and barangays. One SDO official was assigned in each school for the whole day to observe the conduct of classes, particularly the entrance, exit, transition and breaks.
Minimum health protocols including temperature check and wearing of face masks were strictly implemented.
The SDO noted that there was congestion at school gates as parents brought and fetched their children.
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon visited the Muntinlupa National High School, Muntinlupa Elementary School, Tunasan National High School, Sucat Elementary School-Zone 3, Bagong Silang Elementary School and Cupang Elementary School-Annex on Aug. 22.
He observed the strict implementation of health standards. He thanked the police, the Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau and City Security Office for ensuring the security of students.
