President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has presided over a Cabinet meeting to discuss his administration's priority projects on labor and employment.
During the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday morning, Aug, 23, priority projects and programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) were discussed, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said.
These priority projects include the creation of the One Repatriation Command Center, OFW Mobile Application, and the National Reintegration Program under the DMW.
Marcos and his Cabinet also talked about DOLE's core priority which will be increasing employment opportunities, ensuring just and humane working conditions, and delivering accessible, prompt, and continuous services to the people.
According to Angeles, the current administration will also pursue negotiations for bilateral labor agreements, as well as programs for children of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), reintegration of OFWs, scholarships, protection and health.
"Para naman sa DOLE, nagprisenta ng (For DOLE, they presented) context, mandates, structure and role in the socioeconomic agenda, program, priorities and strategic linkages at saka (and) ways forward," the Press Secretary said.
"They will discuss with details later on, possibly next week for the specifics of their plans and programs," she added.
