Jollibee relaunches Yoshinoya's PH chain

The Jollibee Group has relaunched Japan’s world-famous Beef Bowl Chain, Yoshinoya, in the Philippines with the opening of its Glorietta 1 Mall branch in Makati.

Yoshinoya is Jollibee Group’s first ever Japanese food chain, making it a strong addition to the foreign franchised brands currently operated by the company.

“Giving Filipinos the authentic Yoshinoya experience is an important milestone for us at Jollibee Foods Corporation,” said Jollibee Group’s President for Philippine Business Joseph Tanbuntiong.

He added that, “This is our first time to serve Japanese cuisine, and we’re proud to have partnered with the best Japanese food chain, Yoshinoya International.”

The Jollibee Group recently formed a joint venture with Yoshinoya International Philippines Inc. to establish the Yoshinoya Jollibee Foods, Inc., which will operate the Yoshinoya stores in the country, with plans to expand to 50 stores in the long term.

“Yoshinoya has now teamed up with the greatest partner, Jollibee Foods . I have high hopes that, together, we will create a company that that will bring joy to new customers in an even bigger market,” said Asia Yoshinoya International CEO Tetsuya Naruse.

Yoshinoya will join the company’s current portfolio of foreign franchised brands in the country, including Burger King, PHO24, and Panda Express. These foreign franchised brands are expected to contribute to the sustainable growth of Jollibee Group’s domestic business.

The relaunch of Yoshinoya in the Philippines will offer a beefed-up menu bannered by the brand’s world-famous bestseller, the gyudon or beef bowl.

“We also cannot wait to welcome customers, especially Yoshinoya fans, to our stores so they can enjoy the authentic Yoshinoya Gyudon, its world-famous bestseller,” said Tanbuntiong.

“Thanks to the joint venture between Jollibee Foods Corporation and Yoshinoya International Philippines, Filipinos can once again indulge in Yoshinoya’s taste,” said Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa during the Glorietta branch opening.

He added that, “It will be very awesome if Filipinos will enjoy this Japanese favorite with the same quality and price here in the Philippines."

Yoshinoya started as a family-run shop located at Nihonbashi Fish Market in Tokyo. Today, it has over 2,000 locations around the world, including in the Philippines, Japan, USA, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
