The Department of Health (DOH) reported 23,883 new Covid-19 cases in the past week, it said on Monday, Aug. 22.
According to its latest case bulletin, average daily cases have lowered by 15 percent at 3,412 compared to cases from Aug. 8 to Aug. 14.
However, DOH also recorded 101 Covid-19 cases tagged under severe and critical, or 0.44 percent of new cases.
Currently, there are 811 severe and critical admissions which are 9.7 percent of the total Covid-19 admissions.
On the other hand, 27 percent or 699 out of 2,586 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are being used while 30.2 percent of non-ICU beds are being utilized.
Meanwhile, they also recorded 321 deaths due to Covid-19 wherein 109 occurred in August. There are 90 in July 2022, 20 in June 2022, three in May 2022, 16 in April 2022, 23 in March 2022, 42 in February 2022, one in January 2022, one in December 2021, one in November 2021, three in October 2021, two in September 2021, three in August 2021, one in June 2021, one in May 2021, three in April 2021, one in March 2021, and one in January 2021.
DOH also reported that 72,310,149 have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 while 17,419,141 have received booster shots.
