Elements from the Ayala Alabang Substation and Muntinlupa Police’s Intelligence Section were conducting an operation when they saw Cañete standing in an alley with a brown bag.

As they approached him, they noticed a firearm tucked in his waist, prompting them to frisk the suspect who was later found carrying a .45-caliber pistol.

The police officers asked the suspect for documents for the firearm but he failed to produce any that led to his arrest.

Recovered from him were one .45-caliber pistol with one live ammunition, one magazine loaded with four pieces of live ammunition, and two .38-caliber revolvers loaded with live ammunition.

Police said the suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) before the Muntinlupa Prosecutor’s Office.
