Sweet deals from this homegrown delivery app

Because it's pick.a.roo's second anniversary

This month of August is a milestone for pick.a.roo as it celebrates its second year—with a lot of great news to share. Put up by co-founders Kevin L. Tan and Crystal Gonzalez in 2022 during the pandemic, it was a feat in itself to provide a solution to the many problems Filipinos had to face that time. "Aside from providing top-notch delivery service, we made sure to make pick.a.roo an avenue that can support the local economy and help make Filipinos’ lives better by creating more jobs, particularly through our growing pool of riders and shoppers," explains Kevin.

The duo also agreed that their vision for the app is to become an all-in-one, on-demand, premium lifestyle delivery app. And they have successfully done so, with more over 700,000 users—but there's more reasons to download and keep the app. Here are some of them.

  1. COOP and Central Market by Landers Superstore are the latest partners, with COOP promising a 99 percent stock availability for those who will book via the app.
  2. Look for their buy-1-get-1 and buy-2-get-a-freebie deals, free upsizes, cash backs and discounts for credit card purchases and special sales
  3. P2 delivery fees on select days and select brands

With over 4,000 stores that have been curated by the team, one can access different categories in one go—even checking out in one click, too! Their mall-in-one delivery lets customers order from different stores in one mall (Uptown Mall, Power Plant Mall, The Podium, Glorietta, Greenhills, SM Megamall, Eastwood Mall, and more). Other stores in the list include Landmark, Shopwise, SNR, The Marketplace, and Robinsons Supermarket to restaurants such as Mary Grace, Scout's Honor, Cibo, Single Origin, Tim Ho Wan, and Din Tai Fung, even specialty stores like Ace Hardware, True Value, Baby Company, Executive Optical, Ogalala, Pet Lovers Centre. It's really a one-stop shop.

"One of our goals is to cater to the needs of PICK.A.ROO users, whatever and wherever they may be. That’s why we are constantly updating our brand portfolio to cover not only food and grocery shopping and delivery, but also brands for home improvement, pet care, mom and baby needs, and so much more. With PICK.A.ROO, we want to provide Filipinos with even more options for convenient, app-based shopping and delivery, especially during the pandemic and beyond," says Kevin.

Users, while abroad, can also purchase. Imagine out on a business trip and you need to order groceries for the family or buy a gift for someone's birthday, now you can do it even if you're far away from home.

"We are consistently rolling out features that are unique to our app, all with the goal of making the shopping experience for our customers so much easier, more convenient, and maybe even something that they can look forward to doing. We envision pick.a.roo to be a Philippine unicorn startup that every Filipino can be proud of. To be able to do that, we are always working very hard to make pick.a.roo one of the—if not the—best Filipino-made app," says Crystal.
