Residents in landslide-prone villages in Baggao evacuated


CAGAYAN -- The Baggao Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO)/ RESCUE 116 staff together with the PNP-Baggao conducted a forced evacuation of residents of Barangay Taytay-Bantay on Monday night, Aug. 22.

Force evacuation of residents in Barangay Taytay was conducted due to the threat of possible landslides in the area.

The evacuated residents were directed to the Salinong Multi-Purpose Hall of Barangay Taytay.

Meanwhile, the Baggao local government unit said that as of 10:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, there are 36 families with 103 individuals from Brgy. Taytay has been evacuated to Salinong Multi-Purpose Hall.

It was also announced that classes in pre-school up to the College Level (Public and Private) are suspended.

Narciso B. Corpuz, head of Baggao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), said that Sippaga Bridge, Nangalinan is impassable.
