Mayor Malapitan checks schools' adherence to Covid health protocols


Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan personally checked if Covid-19 health and safety protocols are being observed in public schools all over the city as face-to-face classes resumed on Monday, Aug. 22.

Malapitan visited the Bagong Barrio Elementary School where he issued and instruction to all schools to make sure that there are hand sanitizing and hand-washing areas to ensure the the learners are protected against Covid-19 and other diseases.

He also urged students to wear their face masks and to observe physical distancing.

The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) deployed 270 personnel in schools to ensure police visibility as a deterrent to crimes.

“Inatasan natin ang ating kapulisan na pangunahan ang pagpapanatili ng kaayusan sa ating mga paaralan at upang maging panatag din ang mga magulang sa kaligtasan ng kanilang mga anak (We have instructed our police to maintain order in our schools and to assure parents of the safety of their children),” Malapitan said.

“Umaaasa po ako na makikipagtulungan ang lahat upang magtuloy-tuloy na pagbabalik sa normal ng pamumuhay ng ating mga kabataan (I hope that everyone will cooperate so that the lives of our youth will continue to go back to normal)," the mayor added.

The city government said that there are around 4,000 learners enrolled at the Bagong Barrio Elementary School.
