Cagayan police ready for ‘Florita’


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Police in this province are ready for tropical depression “Florita.”

POLICE in Camalaniugan, Cagayan monitor to low-lying areas especially barangays on the Cagayan River.

Police Col. Renell Sabaldica, police provincial director, said they have activated the Provincial Disaster Incident Management Task Group, coordinated with the Cagayan Provincial, City, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils, and conducted inspection, inventory, and preposition of search, rescue, and retrieval equipment.

Sabaldica said they have also accounted and prepared search, rescue, and retrieval personnel and reactionary standby support force in the 29 municipal and city police stations in the province.

The PNP has started conducting “Operation: Tambuli” in low lying and flood prone barangays to increase public awareness on the coming tropical cyclone.

Sabaldica ordered police personnel to assist in the preemptive or forced evacuation of affected residents.

He has deployed mobile police forces in flood prone areas which are ready to conduct timely and rapid disaster response, relief operation, emergency medical evacuation, secure main routes, clearing operations, and traffic management.

Maximum security will be implemented in all police stations in Cagayan.
