Parents wanting to get educational assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWS) flocked to public schools in Antipolo City on Friday, Aug. 19, to request for enrollment certification.
At Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Barangay Sta. Cruz and Kaysakat National High School, both in Antipolo City, parents requesting enrollment certification of their children lined up on Friday, or a day before the DSWD starts the payout for the P1,000 to P4,000 educational assistance.
One of the required documents to be submitted to the DSWD offices starting Aug. 20 is the school enrollment certification or registration or any proof of enrollment of a student.
Mrs. Rael Reyes, officer-in-charge of Kaysakat National High School, said parents enlisting their child for School Year 2022-2023 and those requesting for school certification of enrollment trooped to the city’s high school located in Barangay San Jose on Friday.
At Sta. Cruz Elementary School, parents or guardians of enrolled students lined up at the hallway of the Antipolo public school to seek school certification.
A parent of a high school student enrolled at Kaysakat National High School told Manila Bulletin that she would file an application for the DSWD’s education assistance as soon as she completes the requirements.
DSWD said each qualified student is entitled to a one-time P1,000 to P4,000 cash allowance as part of the government’s educational assistance for students in crisis.
According to the social welfare department, those qualified for the educational assistance are breadwinners, working students, child of a solo parent, child of an Overseas Filipino Worker, student whose parent/s has acquired human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), orphaned or abandoned child, child of an unemployed parents, victim of abuse, and calamity-affected victim.
