DPWH starts construction of over P300-M Bataan flyover 


The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the construction of a new four-lane flyover in Pilar, Bataan to ease the long-time congestion of vehicles in the province.

The project has over P300 million budget and is expected to be completed within 18 months.

In his report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain said the construction of Ala-Uli Steel Flyover in Barangay Ala Uli, Pilar will give relief to commuting public passing the intersection of Gov. J.J. Linao National Road and Roman Superhighway (formerly Bataan Provincial Highway).

Considered one of the priority projects under the Mega-Bridges for Urban and Rural Development Project (MBURDP), it involves the construction and installation of a 17.3-meter wide and 607.750-meter long flyover.

Consisting of 195.59-meter modular steel flyover, 80-meter transition road on each side, and 124.612-meter road Approach A and 126.269-meter road Approach B.

Sadain said the construction of flyover will give comfort to the rising number of vehicles going to Bataan Province – the home to special economic zone and free port in Central Luzon, adding, the Roman Superhighway being one of the province busiest and most vital road that caters all types of vehicles from motorcycles to large trailer trucks.
