Peugeot Motorcycles now in PH with new Django retro scooter

Motostrada, distributor of enviable motorcycle brands like MV Agusta, and CFMoto have added another iconic motorcycle brand to their lineup: Peugeot Motorcycles.

The new brand is making their debut in the country with the Django line of scooters. Though bearing clear inspiration from classic designs, the Django is built with modern components and technology.

Owing to its heritage as a builder of cars, the Django’s design features nods to four-wheeled vehicles like the front grille, hooded tail light (reminiscent of ‘50s car designs), and even the white side wall look of classic cars.

The Django is a an automatic (twist-and-go) scooter perfect for the city of short trips out of town. Like any modern scooter, you can expect an under-seat compartment that can fit a helmet. It’s easy to get a read of the semi-digital dashboard. There’s a 12-volt power socket hidden in the lockable glove compartment to charge devices. Riding at night is a breeze with LED lights all around with DRLs.

It’s accessible for any rider thanks to the flat footboard and 770mm seat height. Finally, with a large fuel capacity of 8.5 liters, can travel quite a distance before needing refueling.

It’s powered by an air-cooled, four-stroke, SOHC 150.6cc single-cylinder engine. It produces 10 hp and 9.2 Nm of torque and is mated to a CVT.

Keeping it aloft over bumps are 12-inch wheels. There’s an option to have them in white for that white side wall look. It’s brought to a stop with disc brakes in front and behind, governed by ABS as standard.

Like the other classically-style scooter already available, the Django is available in a number of colors and variants. Those that opt for the simple solid color variant can expect to pay P199,000 for the Mono variants. In the middle is the Sportstripe line, featuring a racing number and white stripes, priced at P205,800. Easily the most desirable is the Twotone range, available in red or blue with white contrast, featuring the white side wall look wheels. It’s priced at P216,800.

Peugeot Motorcycles are available at the Motostrada showroom located at 8th Street corner 11th Avenue, Grace Park, Caloocan City.

The arrival of Peugeot motorcycles is a welcome addition to the already growing local moto market. We can only hope they expand this lineup soon with Peugeot’s famous 3-wheeler models.
