Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte attended the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) general assembly held at Radisson Hotel in Cebu City on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
The LCP, according to its Facebook page, is the official association of cities in the country mandated to ventilate, articulate, and crystallize issues affecting city governments and urban communities. It was founded in 1988.
The event was led by LCP President at Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama, along with Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, Pagadian City Mayor Sammy Co, Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez, Gapan City Mayor Joy Pascual, Calapan City Mayor Malou Flores-Morillo, and Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval.
Belmonte also took oath as the executive vice-president of the LCP.
The QC local government said Belmonte and other mayors discussed the city's best practices.
Workshops will also be held where the mayors will talk about the LCP's plans for three years, as well as various issues such as devolution, national tax allotment, social services, and human capital development.
It added that the mayors will conduct a study tour in different cities in Cebu the following days.
