BAGABAG, Nueva Vizcaya – Police arrested on Tuesday, August 16, an elderly man who allegedly raped his niece almost eight years ago in the same town.
A report from the office of Col. Ranser Evasco, Philippine National Police Provincial director (Nueva Vizcaya) said that Felipe Gurat alias ‘Bon Bon,’ 70, a resident of Purok 6, Brgy. Murong, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya was arrested by Tracker Team of Bagabag Police.
His arrest was done on the strength of a warrant dated August 15, 2022 and issued by Dominica Lumicao Dumangeng-Rosario, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 27, Second Judicial Region, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
He was informed of his constitutional rights and now under the custody of Bagabag Police for proper disposition.
His victim was his own relative, who is now 26 years old.
The incident happened on Sept 11, 2014 in Brgy. Tuao South, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya.
The victim considered his uncle as her father but did not expect that sexual abuse would happened to her.
