DPWH to build more healthcare facilities


The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) vowed to build more healthcare facilities nationwide in order to increase the country's readiness to health threats that include the Covid-19.

DPWH Sec. Manuel Bonoan is hopeful that the department's task force created by the past administration to facilitate the augmentation of local and national healthcare facilities all over the country will continue.

The task force is headed by Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain who oversaw the planning, design and preparation of alternative infrastructure for quarantine/isolation/treatment and accommodation of medical frontliners, as well as in assisting the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) and the National Task Force on COVID 19.

Other officials tapped for the projects are Undersecretary Carlos G. Mutuc designated as Project Director of the Roads Management Cluster II - Multilateral under the Unified Project Management Office (UPMO); Director IV officials Alex G. Bote, head of the Public-Private Partnership Service; Randy R. del Rosario, Stakeholders Relations Service; Rhalf B. Cawaling, Information Management Service; Genevieve E. Cuaresma, Finance Service; Toribio Noel L. Ilao, Bureau of Equipment; Roseller A. Tolentino, Region 3; Zenaida T. Tan, Region 10; Rey Peter B. Gille, Region 11; and Basir M. Ibrahim of Region 12.

Other officials include Reynaldo P. Faustino being the head of Bureau of Research and Standards; Amador A. Andrada, Bureau of Equipment; Danilo L. Balisi, Bureau of Design; Juby B. Cordon, National Capital Region; Reynaldo C. Alconcel, Cordillera Administrative Region; Emmanuel W. Diaz; Region 1; Denise Maria M. Ayag, Region 3; Marilou N. Lacuna, Region 5; Jose Al V. Fruto, Region 6; David P. Adongay Jr., Soray’yah M. Ibrahim, Region 9; and Lilibeth N. Aparecio of Region 10.

“I know it is a significant commitment, but I am prepared to assist Secretary Bonoan and contribute to the timely completion of various flagship infrastructure projects as we aim to ‘Build Better More' under the administration of President Bongbong Marcos” said Sadain who was the designated by former President Duterte chief implementer of the Build, Build, Build (BBB) Projects.
