DPWH strengthens landslide-prone slopes along Alaminos-Bolinao road

PANGASINAN -- Department of Public Works and Highways-Pangasinan First District Engineering Office has intensified its efforts to rehabilitate roads with slips, slope collapse, and landslides along Alaminos-Bolinao Road in Barangay Tiep, Bani.

As heavy rains and unexpected natural disasters like earthquakes have significant impact on the slope stability of roads, the DPWH is set to increase slope safety to prevent slope collapse or erosion and lessen the possibilities of landslides in Bani, Pangasinan.

District Engineer Marieta B. Mendoza said the scope of work includes construction of stone masonry and laying out of active wire mesh and erosion control mat.

Construction of a lined canal is also underway to prevent rising of water to the road.

P96.5 million has been allocated from the General Appropriations Act of 2022 for the implementation of the project, which is necessary for the safety of all, including tourists and residents.

Once completed, the critical slope of Alaminos-Bolinao Road in Barangay Tiep would be more stable.
