Provide names and vital details, OWWA chief tells complaining OFWs

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) chief Arnell Ignacio advised on Monday, Aug. 15, complaining overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to provide vital details whenever they file complaints relating to their jobs.

This, as Ignacio noted unattended complaints made on social media due to lack of important details that include names and specific details of the complaints.

"Instead of making the story long, our OFWs should cut their story short and provide vital information such as names, address, and most important their contact numbers," said Ignacio.

The official assured OFWs his office is on top of their concerns, as long as they are communicating the right person and the right office so that officials can attend to their concerns.

“Ang hiling ko lang sa mga humihingi ng tulong, magbigay kayo ng inyong pangalan at kung nasaang eksaktong lugar o bansa kayo. Hindi po madaling tumulong kung wala po kaming alam kung nasaang lupalop kayo naroroon. (My only request to those asking for help, please give your name and the exact place or country you are in. It's not easy to help if we don't know where you are),” he said.

Ignacio has yet to report personally on his office after being tested positive for COVID-19.(Jun Marcos Tadios)
