Two years is certainly a long time to wait for the sequel of the popular #MyDay The Series which took the country's  Boys Love (BL) genre by storm. The fans can't wait. Now, they will be thrilled to learn that  Season 2 of My Day - now renamed into My Story - will start shooting this August.

This was revealed by director Xion Lim of Oxin Films who presented some cast in an intimate mediacon recently. He said that big things are in store for the series as it goes international for the second season. The location of the shooting will not just be the Philippines but also Thailand and there will be actors coming from both countries.

My Story will have the protagonist Sky (played by Miko Gallardo) go to Thailand to get over his broken heart and work in a 5-star Michelin restaurant. Sky's mom, Nanay Linda, is left behind in the Philippines and opens a boarding house where Gray, a working student, meets a foreign exchange student named Hunter. According to Xion, the role of Hunter will be played by Hugo Naing, a model from Myanmar.

Pageant expert Ameer Sanchez will continue to play the role of Miss Becky, one of the lovable characters in the series. Miss Becky will open a restaurant in Season 2.

Other actors confirmed for My Story are Gio Emprese, Jamil Bonifacio, Kate Yalung, Philip Ombay, Jericho Del Rosario, Daniel Lauchencgo, James Ramada, Kaleb Ong, Daniel Ong, Chukchuk and the rest of the cast from Thailand.

Of great interest is Miko Gallardo's announcement that his portrayal of Sky in My Story will be his last performance in a BL series. The young actor said he's had enough of BL and will focus instead on producing movies as well as being an action star.

"I want to do action movies, that's why I am building my body, working out more, and getting ripped," Miko disclosed.

Xion noted that My Day has had a phenomenal performance as a BL series with more than 100 million views on YouTube. He expressed hopes that My Story will perform equally well or even surpass viewership numbers.

"As one of the producers of BL series in the Philippines, am proud to say that Oxin Films is making a mark in this market. We've discovered that there's a large audience out there hungry for our content. Our top viewers come from Brazil, India, US, Indonesia and of course, the Philippines," Xion said.

The director added that the BL genre is alive and kicking as he is scheduled to work on other series like Rainbow Prince and Tie The Not which are all about boys' love.

Xion said that for My Story, he is looking at 10 episodes, which will be shorter than Season 1. He reasoned out that this is the trend now in some shows.
