OVP partners with Ayala Foundation for education


Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte met with Ayala Foundation Chairman Jaime Zobel de Ayala to talk about partnerships for the country’s education sector.

In a Facebook post, the Vice President thanked the Ayala Foundation, headed by one of the country’s richest families, for its cooperation with the government in improving the quality of education in the country.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Ayala Foundation sa kanilang dedikasyon at pagpapaabot ng tulong para sa lahat ng (I thank the Ayala Foundation for their dedication and for extending help for all) Filipino learners,” Duterte wrote.

The meeting between the Education chief, which the Vice President holds in a concurrent capacity, and the Ayala Foundation happened at the Department of Education (DepEd) central office on Monday, Aug. 15.

Duterte said the foundation expressed its willingness to support the programs of the Education department to improve the quality of education in the country.

Aside from Zobel de Ayala, also in the meeting were Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan, iPeople President Alfredo Ayala, and Ayala Coordinator Cel Rosales-Amores.

Schools across the country will open its school year on Aug. 22, while the Marcos administration ordered the shift to full face-to-face classes by November this year.

Save for some special circumstances, all public and private schools must be ready for the implementation of full in-person classes.
