Nartatez takes over helm of PRO 4-A


CAMP GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba City, Laguna – Police Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. assumed his post as Police Regional Office-4 A director at the Bigkis-Lahi Event Center here Monday, August 15.

The turnover ceremony between Nartatez and outgoing regional director Police Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra was presided over by Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr.

Nartatez acknowledged his predecessors for making Calabarzon as the most recognized and progressive region in the country.

He asked the cooperation and support of all PRO 4-A personnel and cited the importance of accountability and command responsibility in every police operation to every police station.

“As your new regional director, I will continue the plans and programs that promote the welfare and development of every police personnel of PRO 4-A. I accept this position as a challenge so that I will perform my duties and obligation in my full capacity. I am expecting that you will also do your best to serve the public so we can gain their trust and support towards the attainment peace and progress in our region. I am very grateful to the leadership of the PNP organization, especially to our chief PNP Gen. Azurin, for trusting me and giving me this opportunity to be your new regional director of PRO Calabarzon,” Nartatez said.

Azurin congratulated Nartatez and Yarra and reiterated his peace and security program dubbed “Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan Tungo sa Kaunlaran” in the performance of the mandated duty of a police officer.

Azurin thanked stakeholders and community for supporting the plans and programs of the PNP.

He cited the significance of “Kasimbayanan” (Kapulisan, Simbahan, at Pamayanan) which focuses on the spiritual and moral enhancement of PNP personnel toward the attainment of the PNP mission and vision.

Nartatez, before becoming PRO 4-A chief, served as director of the PNP Finance Service based in Camp Crame, Quezon City. He is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992.
