Ruffa Gutierrez and KaladKaren are being pitted against each other by some online users.
It stemmed from statements the two made during a recent "Miss Q&A" segment on "It's Showtime," after a contestant seemingly promoted unity.
Ruffa commented: “Maganda 'yong pino-promote mo yung unity. Kasi 'yon talaga ang kailangan natin ngayon especially 'yung mga tao nagaaway-away. Laging nagba-bash bash...”
KaladKaren, on the other hand, suggested the contestant should have phrased it differently.
“'Di ba 'yung mga mahihirap nating kababayan, kahit gaano kahirap silang nagta-trabaho hindi sila umaasenso because of bad system, because of so many things sa mga social issues na na-o-opress sila? Pwedeng ganun yung atake,” KaladKaren said.
Many netizens thought KaladKaren was taking a swipe at Ruffa.
The two were quick to clear the air, noting they're good friends.
Ruffa said: “Baka akala nila magkaaway tayo. They don’t know we’re friends.”
