Good Samaritans rush in aid of Jaya, family

Jaya took to social media recently to thank the many kind people who helped her and her family financially after they lost their house in a fire.

A friend, Allan Pajimula, created a Go Fund Me page for the singer and her family with their consent.

None too soon, help came in droves, enabling them to raise $7,300 from more than 100 donors.

Jaya could only be thankful.

She tweeted, "We are grateful for all of your love and generosity! Its hard to post this but anything will help us during this tragic time. May God bless you abundantly for helping us out!"

The family posted a separate update on gofundme.com.

It read, "Everything is going well with us! We are in a hotel for a few days and we are waiting for approval for a new place.

"Although this is a difficult transition, we could not do this without all of your generosity, giving, love and support!

"God sends his children to help his children! May God bless all of you for your kindness!

"We still have a lot of work to do. So keep on praying for us! We love each and everyone of you!"

Jaya and her family moved to the US July last year after experiencing a series of challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
