13 gamblers playing ‘bingo,’ ‘tong-its’ arrested in Cagayan


TUAO, Cagayan – Thirteen gamblers were arrested during the police’s anti-illegal gambling operation in Brgy. Culung in this town on Friday, August 12.

Police Major Jhun-Jhun Balisi, chief of Police in Tuao, reported to the Cagayan Police Provincial Office that they received information on gambling activities in Brgy Culung.

The raiding police caught the 13 individuals in the act playing ‘bingo’ and ‘tong-its’ at two different tables.

Three gamblers were arrested and a set of cards and P638 cash of different denominations were confiscated from one table.

The 10 others playing ‘bingo’ on the other table were arrested. Police confiscated bingo game cards and P415 cash of different denominations.

The police are set to verify whether the gamblers are beneficiaries of 4Ps.

All the arrested gamblers are residents of Culung, Tuao, Cagayan.

They and the confiscated evidence were taken to the police office in Tuao for proper disposition.

They are now facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 or Illegal Gambling.
