Pasig LGU launches Covid vaccination caravan

To bring Covid-19 vaccinations closer to the communities, the Pasig City local government launched on Friday, Aug. 12, a Covid-19 vaccination caravan or the "CaraVacc to the Community" program.

The program aims to boost the city's vaccination rate and cater to individuals who live in areas far from the city's regular vaccination sites.

By bringing the vaccination program closer to their homes, it may encourage the unvaccinated city residents to get jabbed.

For the first day of the program, the Pasig Vaccination Team will administer vaccines at Park 5, Sta. Isabel Street in Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City. The site will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For the CaraVacc in Barangay Kapitolyo, only Pfizer and Sinovac are the available vaccine brands.

First and second doses for the primary series and the booster shots are available for adults.

The second booster shot for adults will only be given to immunocompromised individuals, healthcare frontliners, and senior citizens.

For the five to 11 years old, only the first and second primary vaccine doses are available.

For the 12 to 17 year old, the first dose and second dose of the primary series may be administered, as well as the first booster shot. But those from this age bracket with commorbidities will not be accommodated. Instead, they are urged to proceed to the Pasig City General Hospital for their vaccination.

The PCGH is open for pediatric vaccinations (12 to 17 years old) every Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Information on what to bring at the vaccination site may be viewed here.

Pasig residents may visit the Pasig City Public Information Office's Facebook page for announcements on the future schedule of the CaraVacc for other barangays.

Covid-19 vaccination is ongoing in the city's regular vaccination sites.

However, the local government announced that the vaccination sites at the Pasig Sports Center and Pasig City Mega Parking II were closed on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

From Aug. 10 onward, vaccinations will only be held at SM City East Ortigas from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

As of Aug. 10, Pasig City has 331 active Covid-19 cases. It has a total of 84,500 confirmed cases, with 82,556 recoveries, and 1,613 deaths.
