MB Daily News Update: PBBM to personally look into botched sugar importation

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. wants to know who tried to pull a fast one among agricultural officials linked to the botched order to import 300,000 metric tons of sugar.

And with that probe on the alleged illegal sugar importation, Marcos also said he was seeking to strike better coordination among agencies on the matter of food production and distribution.

Taal Volcano is acting up anew as a 2.8-kilometer, steam-rich plume was observed emanating from its main crater on Friday morning.

Covid-19 infections in Metro Manila may have already reached their peak, according to the OCTA Research Group, even as the Department of Health (DOH) also noted that the country remains under low-risk classification with the steady increase in intensive care admissions due to the coronavirus.
