Man yields P10.2 M shabu in QC buy-bust


Police arrested a man who yielded P10,200,000 worth of alleged shabu in a buy-bust operation in Novaliches, Quezon City early Friday morning, Aug. 12.

Lt. Col. Von June Nuyda, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Novaliches Station (PS 4) chief, identified the suspect as Jayson Espinar, 38, a resident of Barangay San Bartolome, In Novaliches.

Based on a tip from an informant, the PS 4 conducted the entrapment operation against the suspect along Carlos Street, Brgy. San Bartolome at around 2 a.m. on Friday.

Espinar was arrested after a successful transaction with a police officer who acted as a poseur-buyer.

Seized from the suspect were around 1.5 grams of alleged shabu worth P10,200,000, a digital weighing scale, the buy-bust money, and a cellphone.

According to the QCPD, Espinar had previous cases related to illegal drugs and robbery hold-up.

He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
