A statement from City Hall on Facebook said Singson is experiencing Covid symptoms and is now in isolation.

In addition, it said that he is getting the proper medication and care and, despite his condition, it is business as usual at City Hall.

Singson said his office and all departments are open to the public.

He reminded the people to observe health protocols as there is a Covid-19 surge in Vigan.

This surge prompted the Vigan City Inter-Agency Task Force for Covid-19 to hold an emergency meeting Monday, August 8.

City Health Office II Dr. Loida Ranches ordered the CPSDRRMO, Vigan police, the Public Market Office, and barangay councils to implement stricter monitoring in various offices and barangays.

She said this ensures that every single person in the city is following health protocols.

As of Tuesday, August 9, Vigan has 27 active Covid-19 cases with 2,937 recoveries and 58 deaths.
