A 27-year-old man who threatened to release his 17-year-old male chat mate’s nude photos if he refused to meet and have sex with him was nabbed in an entrapment operation on Tuesday, Aug. 9, in Pasig City.
In a police report submitted to Col. Roman Arugay, chief of police of the Pasig CPS, the suspect, a resident of Barangay Malinao, Pasig City, was arrested inside a hotel located at Jenny's Avenue, Barangay Rosario, Pasig City at around 12:15 a.m.
Operatives of the Station Intelligence Station (SIS) of the Pasig City Police Station (CPS) led by SIS Chief Maj. Jose Luis Aguirre, and the Eastern Police District (EPD)'s Anti-Cybercrime Team led by Maj. Ely Compuesto II, conducted the operation.
According to the police's initial investigation, the victim and the suspect met and shared intimate messages online. Their conversations later involved exchanges of nude and explicit photos and videos.
The suspect began threatening the victim, saying he would release his explicit photos and videos to family and friends if he refused to meet with him in person and have sex with him, the report said.
The victim sought the assistance of the police after receiving the threats from the suspect.
Police confiscated two of the suspect's cell phones, one of which contained the explicit photos of the victim.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Pasig CPS.
He is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9775, the "Anti-Child Pornography Law," pertaining specifically to Articles 286 on Grave Coercion and 282 on Grave Threat, as well as violation of Section 6 of RA 10175, the "Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012" in relation to RA 7610, the "Special Protection fo Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act."
