With full military honors, former president Fidel V. Ramos, best remembered for steering the country out of economic turmoil in the 1990s, was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
The government reported that the economy grew by 7.4 percent in the second quarter of 2022, although this was slower compared to the same period last year.
The country also posted a trade deficit reaching $5.8 billion in June.
Meanwhile, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said it released P2 billion more to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for assistance that could be accorded to individuals and families who are in crisis.
